Assistance Available for Low-Income Homeowners

Cold weather is here but there are two programs that offer weatherization and home repair services at no cost to qualifying low-income homeowners in the county.

One program helps weatherize homes and includes repair or replacing heating and air conditioning systems, insulation and caulking. The other program offers grant money to help with roof repair, plumbing, electrical, guttering and accessibility issues.

Eligibility for these programs is based on household income relative to the federal low-income guidelines. Call 316-262-7035 for applications. Both programs are administered by the South Central Kansas Economic Development District (SCKEDD).
